Although clearly part of Japan, Okinawa has it’s own unique legacy, spoken language, and distinct culture. In the last two decades Okinawan culture has become more popular throughout Japan thanks to popular musicians and local cuisine. This beautiful island has the unrealized potential of becoming a popularresort destination for people world wide.

Okinawa is subtropical and even in winter temperatures rarely drop below 15°C. This makes the area a popular winter destination, although much of the time it is cloudy and a bit too cool for the lying on the beach. Okinawa is subject to a monsoon season in late winter and spring.
