When making a decision on what company will handle your credit card processing account, some people only look at cut-rate vendors. At first glance their rates seem cheap and they look like they offer competitive services. However, those deep discount rates can frequently mask a host of hidden fees, processing fees, application fees and other charges that can drive the cost of that discount provider through the roof. This is where it pays to shop around and compare costs. Any merchant services company worth being considered will list all fees and charges up front.
