Using Bankrupcy to Get Out of Money Problems
Bankrupcy is an unfortunate event that can befall anyone. Bankruptsy can happen to the brash young entrepreneur or the long established businessman.
When a business is in serious financial difficulty and is unable to service its debt or pay its creditors, either the compnay or its creditors can file with a federal bankruptcy court for protection under either chapter 7 or chapter 11.
Once bankrupcy is filed, the responsibility for repaying debt is temporarily suspended. What is called an automatic stay goes into effect and creditors who are listed on the petition are prohibited from contacting the debtor while he is under bankruptcy protection.

Realistic Financial Planning Considers Long Term Care Issues
February 4th, 2008
As time goes by it is more and more important to know the facts about your long term care insurance options. That’s because the cost of long term care continues to rise rapidly.
The average cost of nursing home care in the US is currently more than $50,000 per year. While the cost of healthcare is different in areas across the country, in certain areas of the country it can be as high as $100,000 per year. The average length of a stay in a long-term care facility is 3.1 years, so this represents an average cost of between $170,000 and $310,000.
The truth is the costs can sometimes be worse than that, because a nursing home stay usually only comes after a person has received home health care services for a fairly long time. This means that your resources will very likely have been depleted even before dedicated long term care is needed.
Stop Collection Harrassment by Collection Agents
January 31st, 2008
Did you know that the FDCPA (the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) strictly regulates the behavior of debt collectors and collection agencies and states that overly aggressive or deceptive collection practices are against the law?
Debt collection is a necessary business activity by which creditors can take reasonable steps to secure payment from consumers who owe money. But there are legal limits to the behavior of debt collectors, and sometimes these people step over that line.
Here are some ways that debt collectors engage in practices prohibited by the FDCPA. when contacting you they call before 8am and after 9pm - no early or late calls allowed. They also cannot call you at work if you tell them not to.

Greater competition between credit card providers has meant that a number of credible companies now specialize in giving credit cards to people who have just been through bankruptcy.
Portable Exhibits: Easy On The Budget
January 24th, 2008
Portable trade show exhibits have been around for awhile and long been recognized as a less expensive approach to trade show exhibiting than going custom. When portables were first introduced, this was true because the only options available were plywood based exhibits that were truly custom built from scratch and the newer portables ala pop up exhibits. Now, however, it is true for subtler reasons, the cost of labor at a show, the increased cost to ship, and the cost to replace key elements like graphics.
Jack uses 1 day car insurance to save
January 22nd, 2008
There is a guy from my work who lives in an apartment less than 100 meters from work which as it happens is right next to a supermarket, from my point of view he has everything right at his doorstep, and I have often asked him why he doesn’t sell at least 1 of his 2 cars.
He however is quite content keeping both cars and tells me that using 1 day car insurance, the few times a year that he does use the cars, makes the cost of owning them negligible. I still think he’s a bit crazy tying his money up with cars that he rarely uses but each to their own I guess.
Help Your E-Customers Feel Safe, Secure
January 21st, 2008
While more than 80% of internet shoppers use their plastic to handle their purchase, that doesn’t mean those same consumers aren’t concerned about fraud and identity theft. Which is why any merchant services company you’re considering doing business with should be as concerned, if not more. Do they have risk management, fraud protection, identity theft protection and secure encrypted messaging? If there is a problem with your site’s transactions, will they be there for you every step of the way? If your site has a reputation for giving your customers a safe and secure place to shop, your repeat traffic will take care of itself.

Stopping Debt Collection Harassment
January 6th, 2008
Debt collectors are famous for threatening people, but threats by debt collectors are generally unlawful. For instance, they may not implying that they are an attorney when they are not. They cannot threaten that nonpayment will result in imprisonment, garnishment, or attachment.
Did you know that collection harassment by debt collectors and collection agencies is forbidden by federal law? That’s right! The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) regulates the behavior of debt collectors when attempting to collect debts.
Yes indeed. The FDCPA prohibits many of the practices that we have come to associate with debt collectors. While debt collection is a legitimate function of all businesses, the FDCPA only allows a business entity or collection agency to take reasonable steps in trying to collect debts.
Debt collectors may also not threaten to sue you if they are not an attorney, and they cannot threaten actions which they do not intend to take. To make idle threats for the sake of extracting payment is considered lying.
