Dream studies - a New Interdisciplinary Field
February 28th, 2008
In the past, the study of dreams was typically done from only one perspective at a time, usually of psychoanalysis or depth psychology. However, now researchers are emerging who are working on the topic of dream studies from multiple perspectives simultaneously.
This more holistic field of dreams, so to speak, considers dreaming from psychological, scientific, anthropological and artistic perspectives to arrive at a more textured view of dreams. In the final analysis, well, there is no final analysis. Just like other topics in consciousness studies, dreams are never “solved.” Rather, they are complex thought artifacts that continuously bring new gifts.
