I am amazed — simply amazed — have the number of people who believe that it is simply okay to buy cheap furniture, use it until it is falling apart, then throw it away. Since even the cheapest of furniture can cost a lot of money to buy when it is brand-new, we should instead try to select pieces of furniture which will last — and which will also have a higher resale value. This is one of the primary reasons why I purchased my designer furniture — not only will it stand up to years and years of constant use, but should the need ever arise I or my descendents can sell this piece of furniture, knowing that it will have held its value over the years.
