I’m old enough to recall the early days of shopping on the Internet. You found what you were looking for, then wrote a check and mailed it. It took a few days for the check to arrive, a few days for the check to clear, and a few days for the order to be processed, mailed and delivered. A few days here and there and pretty soon it was several days. Then Internet sites got wise and added credit card processing and a few days were, well, a few days. Now when I run across a site that is not set up to accept payments online I get a funny feeling. With merchant services so easy to establish, why is this e-store still asking for checks? While pondering that question I move to a site that does have merchant services.
